Nick Phillips
Group Operational Director – Commercials Division
Nick Phillips was appointed Group Operations Director on 5th January 2009. Nick is responsible for the operations of Bristol Street Commercials. Nick joins from Iveco where he held the position of Franchise Director. He has previously held positions within Honda and within Lex.
Nick’s remit will include operational matters as well as developing the strategy for further business growth in the Commercial vehicle area. He will report directly to the Group Chief Executive, Robert Forrester.

Carl joined the company in March 2008 from MAN Direct Sales where he covered the Black Country and Worcestershire area for 2 years. Previously Carl has covered the Birmingham territory for Renault Trucks for 4 years.
Carl is a keen supporter of West Bromwich Albion FC and Worcester Warriers RFC and when time allows enjoys a game of golf. Carl also enjoys family holidays in the Lake District and South West of England.

Neil has worked in the world of commercial vehicles since the early nineties, which has given him extensive knowledge working with some of the leading brands in the UK such as Volvo and Mercedes Benz. His career has taken him all over the UK but he is now settled in the ‘South West’ doing what he enjoys best ‘Selling Used Trucks’.
When he’s not working Neil enjoys spending time with his family. Hobbies include football, mountain biking and DIY.

Instead of leaving school Andrew decided to stay on at 6th form and take up a subject he thought at the time would lead to bigger and better things for his career. After completing a GNVQ in Leisure and Tourism he realised that the pay and hours in the industry was not great and went back to the drawing board.
After a few sales roles in his early twenties Andrew found himself working at Arval in several roles including used vehicle sales. After six years with Arval Andrew decided to move to Ryder Plc. There he worked as a BDM and then later as a team sales supervisor. Along came the five year itch and he decided to move to a whole new industry.
Andrew spent the next two years working as a sales manger in the self build and renovation arena. He then decided he missed the commercial vehicle world to much and has once again joined the force.
When he is not spending time with his wife and daughter Andrew enjoys collecting records and keeping fit. He tries to play golf but needs practice... |

Tony Baxter

Tony left school at 16 and began working life as an apprentice Commercial Vehicle fitter. After nine years in the workshop he moved into Sales selling Light Vans to Heavy Trucks.
Tony has been selling Commercials for the past 29 years, the last 15 of which have been with Iveco.
His main interest is Motorsport, whether that is racing at major circuits in the UK, instructing at the local circuit or watching it on T.V.
Tony has been married for 23 years and has two children.

George has worked in the Commercial Vehicle trade since 1977 and began his career with Avis Truck Rental in Bristol until they closed their UK Operation in 1982.
George then took a career break in the French Alps where he learned how to Ski and speak French. He quickly realised that this was all too good to be true and returned to Bristol in 1987 and soon found himself back in the Truck Contract Hire business again with Lex Transfleet, Eurohire and Bryan Brothers Trucks.
In 2000 he moved to Commercial Sales whilst still with Bryan Brothers selling Iveco’s range of vehicles. In 2003 Bryan Brothers closed their Truck Division and Bristol Street Commercials took over the franchise. George has been with us ever since.
His hobbies are Rugby, Football (still playing!), ski ing and ornithology. George also holds a CPC (Home and International and a HGV class 3 licence.

After many years in the bodybuilding industry John brought his knowledge and contacts to vehicle selling. He has been selling trucks since 1996 and has worked for Bristol Street since 2003, firstly from home, then from temporary premises and finally at the new purpose built Avonmouth site. John’s interests are DIY, gardening and golf.

I was born in Neath, South Wales. I joined the RAF in 1985 and completed 6 years service travelling as far as Cambridge! I then worked for several Insurance companies and was once known as the "man from the Pru"! In 1997 I began working for Watts Truck Centre selling Daf Trucks and spent over 11 years there.
I have 2 daughters, who are 12 & 13 (Yes I know!!), and they are reducing my bank balance already. My main passion is Rugby Union and Love following Wales and The Ospreys. I like football also and Support Swansea City. My other passion is boxing (watching not participating), and also enjoy golf, squash and surfing.

Karls expertise lies in Trucks having been with Iveco for the past 15 years. He also has experience in dealing with multi franchise car and van sales gained from the Cowie/Arriva group. Since joining Bristol Street Group at the beginning of February Karl has been enjoying the additional opportunities of being able to offer all his customers a full range of vehicles, ‘a one stop shop’ really does happen here.

Carol has worked in the retail industry all of her working life, predominately in and around the motor industry.
Some of Carols major achievements have been the overhaul of administration systems in numerous branches which delivered improved profitability through a reduction in costing errors and stock losses. Carol has also been responsible for the set up and implementation of systems in three new store / garage builds.
Carol has worked for Bristol Street since 2002.
Carol likes to travel having been to South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, Hong Kong, Bali, all over the USA and to the Caribbean, as well as Europe. Carol especially likes taking coastal breaks in the U.K.
Carol is married to Mark and they have a son called James.
They also have a Tibetan Terrier called Dotty. They love to take Dotty walking either in the countryside around Gloucestershire or along the coast.
After looking after her teenage son and my husband, Carol likes to relax and enjoy a good book and always looks forward to the weekend when she can watch Liverpool on the tv.

Hugh was born in Canada, but his parents moved back to the UK when he was less than 2 years old.
Hugh has lived in or around Worcester since then. Hugh has been married for 30 years with 2 grown up children.
Hugh has been in the motor trade for over 30 years, working for various factors before joining LSUK 18 years ago. He was a regional manager for the last 5 years looking after 15 sites before joining Bristol Street Commercials in February 2009.
Hughs interests include military aviation, gardening, and following local teams Worcester City and Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

Richard started his career in the world of Commercial vehicles directly from school, he joined a local company where he completed his apprenticeship and went on to provide a further 4 years as a fully qualified Technician.
In 1996 Richard left his first place of work after successfully applying to Whitbread Beer Company to become a technician, he spent 7 years with Whitbread before being made redundant in 2003. Richard spent a year as a technician for a local livestock hauler before joining Bristol Street in March 2004 as a workshop controller, he then went on to become Service Manager in January 2007.
Richard is married with two boys aged 8 and 4, who are both sport mad! Richard enjoys keeping fit, supporting Rugby and Football and also has a keen interest in motorcycles.
